The Kidds Insurance Women Senior Cup starts tonight with matches between Merrion v The Hills and YMCA v Leinster.

The first game is a re-match of a recent league encounter which ended in a close contest. In that game Merrion made 170/5 but 78 from New Zealander Katie Gurney resulted in a tense run chase. In the end it was the bowling of Julianne Morrissey [not availbale tonight] that made the difference and Merrion came out on top by thirty odd runs.

The Hills team is Metcalfe, Gurrey, Corcoran, Byrne, Morton, Boylan, Fay-Watt, Maguire, Clinton, Walser, Bowers.

In the second game there is less to go on as the two sides haven't met this season. Both teams won their first league outings but Leinster did lose a DLS determined game against Merrion.
