Cricket Leinster – Youth Focus Group
The Cricket Leinster Executive Committee has decided to establish a Focus Group to address the following challenges:
- To increase participation levels in Youth cricket across all age groups (and address any areas of decline over recent years)
- To provide Youth competitions and structures which are fit-for-purpose and which take into account innovations and concepts from other cricket playing countries/regions
- To achieve an appropriate balance within our Youth system between the objectives of performance and participation
We are very keen to ensure that the composition of this Group is representative of the views of the clubs involved (and in particular those who have or intend to establish Youth Sections) - we are therefore requesting that interested parties put their names forward to participate in this forum by contacting Philip Smith, General Manager, who will chair this Focus Group (firstname.lastname@example.org).
We are particularly looking for people to participate who have a passion for the development of Youth cricket. It would be great if those interested could respond by Friday 23rd June at the latest.
It is anticipated that the Focus Group will submit its’ recommendations to the Executive/Cricket Committee by end September 2017 having had the season in which to reach conclusions and to review the 2017 season. The objective is to achieve a clear direction in good time for the 2018 season.
